This hit me really hard today: What Christians SHOULD do
"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of his Creator. Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, or free, but Christ is all and is in all.
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in a perfect unity.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach to admonish on another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
Doing "all in the name of the Lord Jesus" means bringing honor to Christ in every aspect and activity of daily living. As a Christian, we represent Christ at all times - wherever we go and whatever we say. What impression do people have of Christ when they see me? or you? When they talk to me? or you? What changes do we need to make in our lives in order to honor Christ?
Just on my mind today so I thought I would share it.
"As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord"

Reese stayed the weekend
This weekend, Chris, Stacy, and Reese came for a visit. I love watching Nathan and Reese and play. They are such sweet cousins and good friends. They are so cute together!
Is that not adorable???
We loved having you Reese, come back soon!!!
(you too Chris and Stacy)
Madelyn's 1st Birthday!!
Some of you may remember a year ago some sweet friends of ours had a precious baby girl. This baby girl struggled hard for the first few weeks of her life and still has some struggles today. God has been so faithful through all of their struggles and trials. Madelyn Kate turned one on Friday!!!
This was a year ago...the first time we got to see her up close at the NICU in Tyler.
Yesterday we got to see her like this....
She is such a cutie...but wasn't too sure about her hat at first.
There were a lot of people there, but Nathan stayed with Annette for a long time
Then he found the bounce house....and he LOVED it, as he always does!
It was a great party for a very special little girl, and we had a wonderful time!
Price's Birthday
Some friends in the community had us over for dinner on Friday to celebrate their son turning two. All the kids had so much fun playing together.
They were all so cute sitting together!
We had a great time just sitting relaxing while the kids were playing. It was a nice no-stress night in the mill with some nice friends.
Price and Nathan
I am sure these two will become good buddies through the years ahead!
Dinner with the family
This week, we got to go to Sulphur Springs and eat dinner with my family. Since school/basketball has started, we haven't had much time to get together. It was much needed!
Stacy, Reese, and Gammy
Nathan
PawPaw, Nathan, and Me
Matthew and Chris were there too, but they didn't get into the pictures...
Sorry guys...we still love you!
Happy Surprise Birthday to Travis!
Last Saturday, we had a surprise party for cousin who is 15! I still remember when he was Nathan's age running around throwing balls and bumping his head and laughing about it. For some reason Travis used to think it was so funny to bump his head on anything. Anyway...it has been great to watch him grow up. He was so shocked....my aunt actually pulled off the surprise! We had a great time eating the "pasta bar" and watching the longhorns!
Ready to cheer on the Horns!
SURPRISE!!!
We had a fun night with the family!
Happy Birthday Travis!
