Big Boy Bed!!

Last night, Nathan moved to a big boy bed. There is no longer a crib in the Skinner household. I have mixed emotions about this one. I was sad to see him grow out of the crib and into the big boy bed, because my baby is no longer a baby. However, I am excited of the things to come. He can do so much now. He is talking so well and understands most everything I say. He can play (some) by himself...I like to play with him, so playing by himself is few and far between. He is so smart, knowing all his letters and the sound they make. He has almost got the lowercase down too now. He can identify several colors and all the shapes. He tells me he loves me with his "hey momma guess what" when I ask what,  he always says "I love you!" He just totally melts my heart. He is growing up so fast.

Matthew and Nathan stayed home yesterday while I was at the area track meet. Matthew took his crib down, and put the new bed up while I was gone. He said once he got it all put together, he called Nathan in there to look at it and Nathan's eyes got really big and he said, "Whoa, that's a big bed!" Nathan was so excited. When I got home, Nathan couldn't wait to show me. We ran back to his room and played on the bed and read some books....It was really neat to see him so excited about it.

He only woke up a few times, (which is normal for him no matter what bed he is in), I went in there and tucked him back in and he immediately went back to sleep. He woke up and was excited about sleeping in his big boy bed all night by himself.

Here are some pictures of his big boy bed!

We still have some rearranging to do in his room, but for now, Nathan is so proud of his big boy bed, and I am so proud of him!

  1. I'm so proud of him too. TOO CUTE. Can't believe he's such a big boy. They grow up too fast. But trust me, every step in their journey is exciting! Enjoy them all! Gammy
